Hong Kong Fire Services Department: Thanking Mainland China for their assistance, next focus will shift towards investigating the fire incident.

On December 6, the Hong Kong SAR Government Fire Services Department held a press conference to introduce the current situation of the rescue work in Tai Po fire. The Director of the Hong Kong Fire Services Department, Joseph Leung, expressed his gratitude to the Central Government, the National Fire and Rescue Bureau, and the Guangdong Fire and Rescue Team for their support in the firefighting and rescue operations of the Hong Kong SAR Government Fire Services Department. Leung thanked them for lending drones with thermal imaging analysis, greatly improving the efficiency of firefighting and rescue operations; especially some thermal imaging equipment helped monitor the scene and search for people awaiting rescue. Leung stated that the firefighting and rescue work has been completed, and the next focus will be on the fire investigation. A task force has been established and the approximate location of the ignition point has been determined preliminarily.
