The European Union imposed a fine of 1.2 billion euros on the X platform for the first time under the Digital Services Act.

In early trading on Friday, the stock price of Meta Platforms rose by 0.8% in the US stock market. Earlier, the European Commission fined Meta 120 million euros based on the Digital Services Act for the deceptive nature of X platform's blue verification badge and lack of transparency in advertising/research. This comes shortly after the European Commission announced an antitrust investigation into Meta's artificial intelligence policy on WhatsApp.
