Ministry of Education: Pilot site promotion meeting for the integration reform of ideological and political courses in primary and secondary schools is held.

On December 4th, the "On-site Promotion Meeting of the Integration and Reform of Ideological and Political Courses in Primary, Middle and High Schools in accordance with the Spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC" was held at Tsinghua University. Xiong Sihao, member of the Party Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, attended and spoke, while Yu Yingjie, member of the Beijing Municipal Committee Standing Committee and Secretary of the Education Working Committee, delivered a speech. The meeting emphasized that promoting the innovation of the integration of ideological and political courses in primary, middle and high schools is a matter of great concern for General Secretary Xi Jinping. The pilot project of integrating ideological and political courses in primary, middle and high schools is one of the first projects launched under the three-year action plan for the comprehensive reform of building a strong education country. In the six months since the start of the pilot project, the 10 pilot regions have set clear goals, clear ideas, strong measures, and significant results, forming a batch of tangible teaching achievements, effective policies and systems, and practical work methods. As we approach the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and the beginning of the "15th Five-Year Plan", the innovation of the integration and reform of ideological and political courses in primary, middle and high schools must accurately grasp the historical position and mission of ideological and political course construction in the new era, strengthen problem awareness, break through the difficulties in building the integration of political and ideological courses through pilot reforms, and work together to create a new situation and new ecology of reform in the integration of ideological and political courses in primary, middle and high schools, to contribute greater ideological and political strength to the construction of an education powerhouse in the "15th Five-Year Plan" period. At the meeting, teachers of ideological and political courses from Henan Experimental Primary School, Red Scarf Primary School in Wuhan, Jiangsu Wuxi First Middle School, Changsha First Middle School in Hunan, and Tsinghua University gave demonstration lectures and micro-lesson demonstrations integrating the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC into various levels of ideological and political courses. Representatives from the education departments of Beijing, Shanghai, Fujian, Xinjiang, and Tsinghua University made exchange speeches, and the Curriculum and Teaching Materials Research Institute of the Ministry of Education reported on the monitoring of the pilot reform of integration. More than 100 people, including leaders of the leading universities in the community of integration of ideological and political courses in primary, middle and high schools, ideological and political experts, and frontline teachers, attended the meeting.
