Shanxi's "15th Five-Year Plan" proposes a forward-thinking layout for future industries such as quantum technology, bio-manufacturing, green hydrogen energy, brain-machine interfaces, and more.
The Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China has issued suggestions on formulating the fifteenth five-year plan for national economic and social development. It mentions the cultivation and growth of emerging industries and forward-looking planning for future industries. The focus is on developing new quality productivity according to local conditions, accelerating the scale development of emerging industries, and building emerging pillar industries. It includes focusing on emerging industries such as new energy, new materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, electronic information, modern coal chemical industry, low-altitude economy, energy conservation and environmental protection, and modern medicine, speeding up the development of strategic emerging industry clusters by building and strengthening the industrial chain. This includes enhancing specialty steel materials, aluminum-magnesium materials, copper-based materials, permanent magnet materials, carbon-based materials, bio-based materials, new energy metals, and new-generation semiconductors in the new materials industry. It also involves strengthening and expanding advanced equipment manufacturing industries such as rail transportation, intelligent coal machinery, engineering machinery, new energy heavy trucks, optoelectronics, new energy equipment, power equipment, high-end forging and casting, aerospace, low-altitude equipment, and robotics. Implementing industrial innovation projects to promote innovative facility construction, technological research and development, and product iteration and upgrading. Improving industrial ecosystems and implementing large-scale demonstration actions for the application of new technologies, new products, and new scenarios. Forward-looking planning for future industries such as quantum technology, bio-manufacturing, green hydrogen energy, brain-computer interfaces, embodied intelligence, and sixth-generation mobile communication, gradually constructing a number of leading future industrial areas. Innovating regulatory methods, developing venture capital investment, and establishing mechanisms for future industry investment growth and risk sharing. Strengthening the restructuring of industrial foundations, consolidating and improving the resilience and safety level of the industrial system.
