Daqing Gulong Shale Oil Demonstration Area annual production exceeds one million tons for the first time, with proven reserves of 1.58 billion tons.

Today, it was learned from China National Petroleum Corporation that the annual output of shale oil in the Dagang Gulon Continental Shelf Demonstration Zone has exceeded 1 million tons for the first time, reaching the highest level in history. Significant breakthroughs have been made in the construction of national shale oil demonstration zones in China. Bai Xuefeng, Chief Geologist of the Daqing Oilfield of China National Petroleum Corporation, stated that the successful exploration and development of Gulon shale oil has not only achieved a double breakthrough in the theory and core key technologies of continental shale oil exploration and development, but also provided valuable experience for the development of similar shale oil. Currently, Gulon shale oil has proven reserves of 158 million tons, and our plan is to reach an annual production of 3 million tons by the end of the 15th Five-Year Plan.
