The "2025 China-South Africa Human Rights Seminar" was held in Pretoria, the administrative capital of South Africa, on the 4th. The theme of this event is "Multilateralism and the realization of the right to development", and participants discussed and exchanged views on four major global initiatives, global human rights governance, and practical cooperation between China and South Africa to promote the right to development. Li Hongkui, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the China Foundation for Human Rights Development, said in his speech that the development of global human rights is facing challenges. Experts and scholars from China and South Africa should strengthen communication and exchange, actively build consensus on human rights development in the global South, advocate genuine multilateralism, promote the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, help bridge the development gap between the North and the South, and allow people from all countries to share the benefits of development.
