Recently, due to weather changes and an increase in wedding orders at the end of the year, the prices of freshcut flowers in Kunming, Yunnan have significantly increased. In the Dounan Flower Market in Kunming, merchants have indicated that in December, the price of roses has increased, especially red roses, with prices ranging from 30 yuan to 40 yuan per bunch for A-grade roses. Merchants mentioned that recently, many flowers were damaged by frost, resulting in a decrease in yield. Additionally, the long growing cycle of freshcut flowers in winter has led to price increases. Furthermore, with an increase in wedding orders at the end of the year and the approaching New Year, market demand has also risen, contributing to the rise in prices. Industry insiders stated that single-headed rose varieties such as Lovely Porcelain Roses, Highland Red Roses, and Cappuccino Roses have seen significant price increases, with prices increasing by about 40% to 50% compared to the previous week. It is predicted that these prices will likely continue until around February 14th next year.
