Lan Tianli, former deputy secretary of the Guanxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee and former chairman of the autonomous region government, has been expelled from the party and dismissed from public office.

Approved by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission conducted a review and investigation into the serious violations of discipline and laws by Lan Tianli, former deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and former chairman of the autonomous region government. The investigation found that Lan Tianli had lost his ideals and beliefs, betrayed his original mission, deviated from the new development concept and the requirements of high-quality development, discounted and circumvented the implementation of major decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee, lost party principles, formed cliques within the party, nurtured personal power, engaged in speculation and networking with political fraudsters, and resisted organizational scrutiny. He violated the spirit of the Eight-point Regulation, accepted banquets in violation of rules, unlawfully selected and appointed officials, failed to maintain integrity, accepted gifts and bribes, failed to manage and educate his family properly, disregarded discipline and was greedy, used his position to seek profits for others in bidding for engineering projects, and unlawfully received large sums of money. Lan Tianli serious violations of political discipline, organizational discipline, integrity discipline, and life discipline, constitute serious violations of laws and suspected crimes of accepting bribes. After the 18th National Congress of the Party, he did not retract or stop, the nature is serious, the impact is bad, and he should be dealt with seriously. In accordance with relevant regulations such as the "Disciplinary Regulations of the Communist Party of China", the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China", and the "Administrative Punishment Law for Public Officials of the People's Republic of China", after the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection held a meeting and reported it to the Politburo meeting for deliberation, it was decided to expel Lan Tianli from the Party, dismiss him from his public office, terminate his qualifications as a delegate to the 20th National Congress of the Party and the 12th Party Congress of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, confiscate his illicit gains, and transfer his suspected criminal offenses to the procuratorate for investigation and prosecution. The punishment of expelling him from the Party shall be retroactively approved at the next plenary session of the Central Committee.
