Forcing an upgrade could directly impact the stability of the vehicle's performance and driving safety, therefore it is not recommended. Ford China stated in its announcement that in the 2022-2025 Mondeo models, features such as smartphone projection, the latest version of Baidu Maps with countdown traffic lights, green wave speed, phone destination push, parking recommendations, floating navigation information, and optimized voice assistant have been gradually added in the past two years, making driving more safe and convenient. If the infotainment system of Mondeo owners has not been successfully upgraded, they can go to the nearest 4S store for upgrade services. Regarding the technical suggestion of upgrading to the 8155 chip for old car owners, the new generation SYNC+ infotainment system installed in the 2026 Ford New Mondeo is based on a completely new architecture and technology, relying on a new software and hardware platform for the whole vehicle. It has a different design compared to the 2022-2025 models, and forcing an upgrade could directly impact the stability of the vehicle's performance and driving safety, therefore it is not recommended. Ford China mentioned that they provide exclusive replacement services for old car owners. Old car owners who purchase any model of Mondeo can enjoy up to 7000 RMB in manufacturer replacement gifts, which can be stacked with national/local subsidy policies, in order to purchase the 2026 Ford New Mondeo.
