Preview of the Central Economic Work Conference: It is expected that the loose policy combination will continue, and promoting consumption and stabilizing private enterprises will be the focus.
As the Central Economic Work Conference approaches, the market is closely watching the direction of next year's economic policies. Wang Rui, chief economist of the Oxford Economic Research Institute for Northeast Asia, said, "The macroeconomic growth target, as a rigid indicator, is not very important at this stage. Instead, the qualitative requirements for growth may be more important for China's sustainable growth." She pointed out that a key focus for next year will be whether policies to stimulate household consumption and stabilize consumption continue; and that the private economy, as an important support for employment and growth, will also receive policy support. Regarding macro policies, Wang Rui said that next year is likely to continue with a relatively loose combination of fiscal and monetary policies, which will help stabilize and consolidate the momentum of economic recovery.
