Shenzhen launches large-scale vocational skills improvement action, aiming to provide subsidized and public welfare training for over 280,000 people by 2027.

In order to further implement the national decision on implementing a large-scale vocational skills improvement training action, and to further strengthen the construction of a high-quality skilled workforce in Shenzhen, recently, the Shenzhen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and 20 other departments jointly issued the "Shenzhen City 'Skills Illuminate the Future, Talent Gathering in Pengcheng' Large-scale Vocational Skills Improvement Training Action Implementation Plan", to promote the formation of a new pattern of large-scale vocational skills training that is widely covered, clearly differentiated, and focused. The "Implementation Plan" proposes that Shenzhen City will focus on key groups, strategic emerging industries, digital technology, advantageous traditional industries, modern service industry, health care, rural revitalization, safety skills, competition-driven training, and entrepreneurial training to promote the implementation of 10 major special actions. From 2025 to 2027, more than 280,000 people in the city will participate in subsidized and public welfare vocational skills training, with over 240,000 people obtaining vocational qualification certificates or vocational skills level certificates, promoting labor skill employment, skill development, skill income increase, and skill enjoyment for workers.
