Cui Dongshu, from the China Passenger Car Association, stated in a post that the world's new energy passenger cars reached 17.36 million units from January to October 2025, a year-on-year increase of 30%. In October, the world's new energy passenger cars reached 2.11 million units, a 17% increase year-on-year but a 3% decrease compared to the previous month. The sales of new energy vehicles in the United States from January to October this year reached 1.4 million units, with a growth rate of 10%. Due to factors such as high tariffs and the cancellation of new energy subsidies leading to price increases, the sales of new energy vehicles in the United States in October were 93,000 units, a 32% decrease year-on-year and a 51% decrease compared to the previous month. In 2025, China's new energy passenger cars will account for 68% of the world market share, with China's new energy passenger cars accounting for 75% of the world market share in October. In October 2025, the sales share of domestically produced new energy passenger cars in overseas markets was 17.7%, an increase of 3 percentage points from September. Due to the strong performance of domestically produced new energy vehicles in exports and significant changes in the United States, the sales share of domestically produced new energy passenger cars in overseas markets has increased from 8.7% in 2024 to 13.8% from January to October this year.
