On December 3rd, the Douyin E-commerce Safety and Trust Center announced the upgrade of the rules for "super lucky bags". Douyin E-commerce stated that in recent routine inspections, a few merchants and influencers were found to have engaged in illegal activities such as unclear prize information, prizes not matching descriptions, and random distribution of prizes when using the "super lucky bag" feature. The platform recently updated the "Super Lucky Bag" management rules, adjusting the threshold for the use of super lucky bag products. The store experience score associated with the prizes needs to be equal to or greater than 80 points in order to use the lucky bag feature, and certain categories such as game services and flower delivery will not be allowed as lucky bag prizes. The new rules also require that prizes be deterministic, prohibiting the use of terms like "random distribution" or "blind box prizes" to avoid misleading consumers with uncertain prize information. According to the new rules, the text description and images of lucky bag prizes must accurately correspond, and the type, quantity, and specifications of the prizes must be clear and true.
