Every second, billions of tiny "packages" are traveling in human blood, delivering important information between cells in the body. These particles, referred to by scientists as "molecular messengers," are actually extracellular vesicles. Now, for the first time, a research team at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute in Australia has mapped out the complete molecular composition of these extracellular vesicles and presented the contents carried by the messengers in unprecedented detail. The related paper was published in the latest issue of the journal "Nature Cell Biology."
