British Justice Secretary David Lammy said on December 2nd that in the past three weeks, 12 prisoners in the UK have been mistakenly released, with two still on the run. It is estimated that 91 prisoners have been mistakenly released in the England and Wales region from April to October this year. Lammy stated that British prisons are currently still using a paper-based filing system, which inevitably leads to human errors. Once a fully digitalized system is implemented, the situation will improve.
