Nearly 23 million in transactions, rare Faberg Easter eggs set an auction record.
A Faberg Easter egg produced by the famous jewelry firm in the early 20th century was auctioned at Christie's in London on December 2 for approximately 22.9 million pounds, setting a record for Faberg egg auctions. This "Winter Egg" stands 14.2 centimeters tall including its base, with a crystal eggshell intricately carved with frost patterns and a surface made of white gold "snowflakes" set with 4,500 rose-cut diamonds. Inside the egg is an exquisite small flower basket, with a cluster of flowers sculpted from white quartz, jade, and garnet placed in a basket made of white gold and set with nearly 1,400 diamonds.
