Assisting with the dual carbon goals, China has released for the first time a methodology for carbon sequestration in silt dams.

Recently, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Ministry of Water Resources jointly issued the "Methodology for Voluntary Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Projects - Carbon Sequestration in Silt Dams", marking the first time that China has proposed quantification standards for silt dam carbon sequestration internationally, providing a scientific basis for the inclusion of the Loess Plateau water and soil conservation project in the carbon trading market.
