The Taiwan Affairs Office responds to the Taiwan authorities imposing anti-dumping duties on mainland products.
On the morning of December 3, the Taiwan Affairs Office held a regular press conference. Reporter: Recently, the DPP authorities announced the imposition of anti-dumping duties on imported beer and specific hot-rolled flat-rolled steel products from the mainland, retroactively starting from July 3 this year and lasting for five years. What is your comment on this?
Spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office, Zhang Han: The economies on both sides of the Taiwan Strait have strong complementarities, with the products exported from the mainland to Taiwan meeting market demand and providing Taiwanese people and businesses with more opportunities and substantial economic benefits.
In the face of global economic and trade uncertainties, the DPP authorities unjustly blame mainland companies for not alleviating industrial difficulties, while bowing down to the United States in a shameful manner. We hope that businesses across the strait can strengthen communication and exchanges, seek mutually satisfactory solutions through friendly negotiations, and together strengthen the economy of the Chinese nation.
