According to South Africa's Business Report, a research report drafted by an important government think tank suggests that if South Africa comprehensively reforms its financial system, it could attract up to 5 trillion rand in investment in infrastructure and clean energy. The Johannesburg media reported that the report submitted to the National Planning Commission believes that it is necessary to redesign the monetary and financial framework in order to guide capital towards sectors that can revitalize economic growth and achieve national development goals.
