In Hubei, for every three units of electricity used, one unit is green electricity.
For every three degrees of electricity used in Hubei, there is one degree that comes with the "taste of sunlight and wind" - it comes not from the roaring coal mountains, but from the rotating wind blades, warm sunlight, and rushing water. On December 1, State Grid Hubei Electric Power revealed this information. Green electricity refers to clean energy, including wind, solar, water, geothermal, and other energy sources with less emissions. Following the "dual carbon" target, Hubei's new energy installed capacity has achieved a breakthrough, and the supply of clean energy has seen a huge increase. Hubei has planned and laid out 10 wind, solar, and energy storage bases with a capacity of millions of kilowatts, achieving the new energy installed capacity goal of the 14th Five-Year Plan two years ahead of schedule. Currently, Hubei's total installed capacity of electricity exceeds 130 million kilowatts, with new energy surpassing thermal power to become the largest power source, forming a diverse support system of water, thermal, and new energy. Currently, 7 kilowatts out of every 10 kilowatts of electricity in the province come from clean energy; and one out of every two degrees of electricity generation comes from renewable energy. Green electricity has surpassed the stage of being a "cherry on top" and has become a crucial support for ensuring supply. It is estimated that by 2030, Hubei's new energy installed capacity will reach 80 million kilowatts, accounting for over 50% of the total installed capacity, making clean and low-carbon electricity the main source.
