Iran calls the United States the "biggest threat" to international security.
According to the Iranian Mehr News Agency, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Bahram Ghasemi said at the weekly press conference on the 1st that the coercive actions of the United States and its global interference make it the "biggest threat to international security." Ghasemi cited examples of US forced actions worldwide, including threats against Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, Brazil, and Mexico. He said that the US declaring the closure of another country's airspace is unprecedented and violates all international standards, including aviation safety regulations. Ghasemi also mentioned US pressure on African countries, including claiming that South Africa should not participate in the G20 summit. Ghasemi said that the full support of the US for the Israeli regime actually makes the US complicit in its actions. Ghasemi believes that under normal circumstances, the United Nations Security Council should consider these US actions as a blatant violation of international peace and security.
