Deng Bingqiang: About 200 people still unaccounted for in Hong Kong fire.
According to reports from Hong Kong media, on November 28, the Secretary for Security of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, John Lee Ka-chiu, once again expressed condolences to the victims, families and others affected by the fire at Amoy Gardens. The fire has resulted in 128 deaths, including 108 bodies removed from the scene, 4 who died after being sent to hospital, and 16 charred bodies still inside the building. It is not ruled out that more bodies may be found when the police enter the scene for evidence collection later. 39 of the deceased have been identified, with about half of the remaining bodies found in the units, believed to be identifiable later, while the identities of the remaining 40+ bodies still need to be confirmed. The police received calls for help from 467 missing persons, some of them duplicates, and now among the confirmed missing persons, 39 have died, 35 have been injured and sent to hospitals, 110 are safe, and about 200 people are still unaccounted for, including 89 whose bodies have not been identified.
