Cyprus Greek and Turkish Cypriot leaders hold a meeting and agree to restart negotiations.
The United Nations peacekeeping force in Cyprus confirmed on the 20th that the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders held a meeting that day and agreed to work towards getting the long-stalled reunification talks back on track. Under the auspices of a UN representative, the President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, and the Turkish Cypriot leader, Ersin Tatar, held the meeting. This was the first meeting between the two leaders since the Turkish Cypriot elections in October.
