Director of the State Oceanic Administration, Sun Shuxian, meets with a delegation led by the World Bank Vice President for East Asia and the Pacific Region.

On November 20, Sun Shuxian, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Director of the State Oceanic Administration, met with Carlos Felipe Jaramillo, Vice President of the World Bank for East Asia and the Pacific Region, in Beijing. Both sides had in-depth discussions on establishing a partnership, promoting the construction of the China-World Bank Group Global Ecosystem and Transformation Center, and deepening practical cooperation. Sun Shuxian stated that the Global Knowledge Center is an important achievement of China and the World Bank in jointly addressing global challenges and cooperating sincerely, with its target positioning highly aligned with the responsibilities of the Ministry of Natural Resources. He suggested that the Ministry of Natural Resources and the World Bank sign a framework cooperation agreement to promote the construction of a Global Knowledge Center Technical Support Center, to carry out cooperation in areas such as urban biodiversity protection, nature-based solutions, and natural capital accounting, and simultaneously expand cooperation by sending Chinese experts to the World Bank headquarters or other regional offices for exchanges.
