Two academicians added to the automotive industry, Li Yubo from BYD and Wu Kai from Ningde Times.

The Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering announced the results of the 2025 academician selection, with 73 academicians elected to the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 71 academicians elected to the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The automotive industry has two newly elected academicians, from BYD and CATL. They are respectively: BYD Chief Scientist, Chief Engineer and Director of the Research Institute Lian Yubo, and CATL Chief Scientist Wu Kai elected as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
