WeChat Security Center issues announcement on cracking down on the resale of phone cards and mobile phone numbers.

Illegal sale, rental, and lending of mobile phone cards are suspected of illegal crimes. WeChat will continue to monitor and crack down on the reselling of mobile phone cards and phone numbers within the platform. Recently, we have received reports from users, discovering that some users have been deceived by phrases such as "high-paying part-time job" and "quick money," leading them to participate in the reselling of mobile phone cards and numbers, becoming unwitting accomplices to crimes due to a lack of legal awareness. To protect the legitimate rights and interests of users, the WeChat team will continue to strengthen the crackdown on the reselling of mobile phone cards and numbers. Upon verification and confirmation of the above illegal activities, we will follow relevant national laws and regulations, as well as the Tencent WeChat Software License and Service Agreement and the WeChat Personal Account Usage Guidelines, to impose a tiered punishment on the related accounts according to the severity of the violations. Repeat offenders will face more severe penalties.
