Exposed to be closely related to Jeffrey Epstein, former US Treasury Secretary announces suspension of teaching at Harvard
On November 19th, local time, Larry Summers, former president of Harvard University and former US Secretary of the Treasury, announced that he will suspend his teaching work at Harvard and take a leave of absence from his position as head of a research center under the Kennedy School of Government. This comes as Harvard begins to investigate the connections between its personnel and Jeffrey Epstein. Summers' spokesperson stated that his remaining courses for this semester will be completed by collaborating teachers, and he does not have any teaching assignments for the next semester. Previously, the House Oversight Committee of the US Congress publicly released over 20,000 documents from Epstein's estate, including a large amount of email correspondence between Summers and Epstein, showing a closer connection between the two than previously known. Harvard later confirmed that the school is conducting a review of the newly exposed information to assess whether further action is needed.
