"Giant" comes out! Super large container ship trial sailing in Nantong, Jiangsu.
Today, under the full maintenance of the Nantong Maritime Department, the 16000TEU ultra-large container ship "Nantong Kawasaki 426" manufactured by Nantong Shipbuilding Company sailed off from the Jiangsu section of the Yangtze River, embarking on a trial voyage. It is reported that the ship is 366.99 meters long, 51 meters wide, with a carrying capacity of 160,000 tons, and a maximum carrying capacity of 16,148 standard containers, making it one of the largest container ships that can navigate the new locks of the Panama Canal. The ship integrates various advanced energy-saving technologies, and its single container energy consumption index reaches an international leading level. During the trial voyage, the maritime department relied on the comprehensive waterborne "big traffic management" system to organize and control traffic, dispatching 10 coast guard vessels, tugs, and patrol boats to escort the ship on site, effectively ensuring the safety of the ship's navigation in a complex navigation environment.
