From January to October 2025, China's e-commerce has played an active role in boosting consumer benefits, promoting the construction of a modern industrial system, and expanding high-level opening to the outside world, continuously releasing new dynamics for commercial development. Digital consumption helps to expand domestic demand and benefit the people. Digital consumption and quality e-commerce create new demand through new supply, constantly stimulating consumption potential. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to October, the national online retail sales increased by 9.6% year-on-year. Smart products, online services, and instant e-commerce showed remarkable growth, with AI glasses, smart watches and other wearable smart devices' online sales increasing by 23.1%, online service consumption increasing by 21%, and online vouchers for offline dining increasing by 25.1%, while instant e-commerce catered to convenient consumption needs, with sales increasing by 24.3%. Industrial e-commerce helps with digital transformation. By connecting with businesses, major e-commerce platforms have held over 400 industrial e-commerce events, driving transactions in key sectors such as textiles and pharmaceuticals to increase by 5.5% and 3.4% respectively. The "Digital Commerce Boosts Agriculture" event held in Shandong, in collaboration with Shanxi, Gansu, Jiangxi, and other regions, aims to promote e-commerce to empower the sales of distinctive agricultural products. According to data from commercial big data monitoring, from January to October, the online retail sales of agricultural products and rural areas increased by 9.5% and 7.5% respectively.
