The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics cancels October nonfarm payroll report due to inability to collect some data.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics in the United States announced that it will not release the nonfarm payroll report for October, and stated that the employment data originally scheduled for October will be combined and released in the November report, which is set to be published on December 16th. The agency pointed out that the household survey data for October, which is used to calculate key indicators such as the unemployment rate, will not be able to be collected retroactively. The U.S. nonfarm payroll report consists of two parts: household survey and establishment survey, with the establishment survey used to calculate nonfarm employment data. The agency also stated that it will extend the data collection period for the household and establishment surveys in November.
