The Louvre will install 100 surveillance cameras and set up police booths.
On the morning of November 19th local time, the director of the Louvre Museum in France, Laurence des Cars, attended a hearing held by the National Assembly's Committee on Cultural Affairs regarding the Louvre robbery case. Laurence des Cars admitted responsibility for the robbery and acknowledged it as a huge failure. She announced that the Louvre will initiate and gradually implement over 20 emergency measures, some of which have already begun, including appointing a security coordinator, installing isolation facilities around the most sensitive areas of the Louvre, speeding up the deployment of monitoring systems, installing 100 surveillance cameras by the end of 2026, and setting up a police kiosk within the Louvre grounds.
