According to the latest data from Drewry, the Asia container freight index rose by 24% in the first half of November, closing at $630/FEU. After the November holiday, seasonal demand fell, prompting container shipping companies to take measures such as suspending sailings to boost freight rates. Freight rates also showed differentiation, with rates on the Shanghai to Jakarta and Laem Chabang routes reaching their highest levels since the end of July, while rates on the Shanghai to Manila route fell to a record low.
