The Taiwan Affairs Office responded to Takana Sanae's wrongful words and actions regarding Taiwan: the Japanese side should immediately stop interfering in China's internal affairs and stop provoking and crossing the line.

The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a routine press conference. A journalist from CCTV asked: Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae's provocative remarks and actions related to Taiwan have continued to outrage international public opinion. A global survey in five languages conducted by CGTN, the main media outlet of China, showed that 91.1% of respondents believe Japan should reflect on its historical responsibilities, fully respect China's sovereignty and territorial integrity; 88.9% of respondents condemned Japan's attempts to interfere in the Taiwan issue; and 88.3% of respondents believed that Takaichi Sanae's linking of "Taiwan's situation" to the right of collective self-defense was seeking excuses for Japan's military expansion. Regarding this, spokesperson Zhu Fenglian stated, "We have also seen this survey. The results show that history will not be forgotten or distorted. Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae's provocative remarks on Taiwan, his attempt to intervene in the situation in the Taiwan Strait, deny the fruits of the victory in the War of Resistance, and stir up militarism, constitute trampling on international justice, provocation to the post-war international order, and serious damage to China-Japan relations, which has to make the international community strongly question and worry." Zhu Fenglian emphasized that the Taiwan issue is China's internal affair and does not allow any external interference. The Japanese side should immediately stop interfering in China's internal affairs, stop provocations and aggression, and not continue down the wrong path. It is hoped that the broad masses of Taiwan compatriots fully recognize the danger and harm of Japan's relevant actions, firmly crush all acts of "Taiwan independence" and external interference with us, safeguard the common homeland of the Chinese nation, and uphold the fundamental interests and security and well-being of the Chinese nation.
