Sierra Leone President: ECOWAS willing to work together with Sahel region countries on counter-terrorism efforts.

The West African country of Sierra Leone is currently serving as the rotating president of the Security Council. President Bio stated at the United Nations headquarters on the 18th that although countries in the Sahel region, originally members of ECOWAS, have withdrawn due to political disagreements and tensions between them, they share common interests in counterterrorism and regional stability. Currently, ECOWAS is actively engaging with the Sahel countries alliance to promote anti-terrorism cooperation and collectively address the terrorism issues in the Sahel region.
