The Economic Information App learned that, as of the Tuesday morning before the deadline for submission, the stock price of Axalta Coating Systems (AXTA.US) has risen by about 10%. The reason is that the company announced that it will merge with AkzoNobel through a full stock merger, creating a global paint company worth approximately 25 billion US dollars. The merger is expected to be completed by the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027, with AkzoNobel shareholders holding 55% of the new entity's shares and Axalta Coating Systems investors holding 45% of the shares.
