Trump: America is "very lucky" to have elected me, otherwise the economy would have been in disaster.
President Trump attended the McDonald's Influence Summit on Monday local time and delivered a speech. He told the participants that he was "very lucky" to win the 2024 presidential election, and also said that if Kamala Harris had been elected president, the U.S. economy would have been in a "disaster." Trump said, "Welfare spending continues to rise, all kinds of prices are constantly rising, government positions are increasing, but real jobs that create value are decreasing." He continued, "In that case, economic disaster is inevitable. In addition, our country should have been able to attract $20 trillion in capital inflows, but instead we will face $10 trillion in capital outflows. That means that the United States will definitely fall into economic turmoil, and may even face national bankruptcy." He added, "To be honest, you are very lucky that I won that election." The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' Consumer Price Index shows that the annual inflation rate in September climbed to 3%, the same level as when Trump took office in January. Employment growth has also slowed significantly, with an average of fewer than 30,000 new jobs added each month; many large companies have announced plans to lay off thousands of people by the end of the year.
