The International Organization for Migration announced on November 17th that since the Sudan Rapid Support Forces fully captured the capital of North Darfur state, El Fasher, at the end of October this year, 100,500 local civilians have fled the city and moved to other areas of Sudan. The report points out that there are security risks on the transportation routes around El Fasher, which could hinder the evacuation and movement of civilians. Since May 2024, the Rapid Support Forces have besieged El Fasher for a long time. On October 26th this year, the armed forces announced that they had full control of El Fasher. On April 15, 2023, armed conflict broke out between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in the capital, Khartoum, and the fighting subsequently spread to other areas. The ongoing armed conflict for over two years has resulted in nearly 30,000 deaths in Sudan. According to recent data released by the United Nations, out of Sudan's approximately 50 million population, over 11.7 million people are displaced, and over 30 million people are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance.
