Talim Oilfield Kekai Gas Storage Facility Opens Valve for Gas Extraction

On November 18, the first gas storage facility, Kekaya Gas Storage Facility, of the Tarim Oilfield in China was officially opened for gas production, with approximately 60,000 cubic meters of natural gas flowing into the Southern Xinjiang pipeline network every hour. The Kekaya Gas Storage Facility was put into operation in 2023, and it is interconnected with the Southern Xinjiang Natural Gas Utilization Project. During the summer gas supply season, surplus natural gas from upstream gas fields and transmission pipelines is injected into underground storage, and during the winter gas peak season, natural gas is extracted for use.
