Masayoshi Son's AI empire is expanding again! Softbank swallows Ampere for $6.5 billion and teams up with ARM to challenge x86 dominance, it's on the way.
According to the Wisdom Finance APP, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has concluded its antitrust review of SoftBank Group Corp., led by legendary investor Masayoshi Son, acquiring semiconductor design company Ampere Computing LLC. This also means that the antitrust barriers to the $6.5 billion acquisition deal initiated by SoftBank have been completely eliminated. SoftBank's successful acquisition of Ampere, combined with its previous acquisition of Arm, means that it will create the most influential ARM architecture server CPU ecosystem in the world. SoftBank's founder and leader Masayoshi Son continues to accelerate and actively implement his vision of "AI ambition" with this move.
