Chen Haiqiang, President of Zhejiang Commercial Bank, has been promoted to the Secretary of the Party Committee.

On November 17, 2025, Caixin learned from industry sources that Zhejiang Merchants Bank held a meeting in the afternoon and announced that Chen Haiqiang, the president, was appointed as the secretary of the party committee and nominated as chairman of the bank. Prior to this, Caixin exclusively reported that Chen Haiqiang may be reassigned and there were potential new personnel movements. This adjustment marks the second promotion for Chen Haiqiang this year. In early April 2025, he was promoted from vice president of Zhejiang Merchants Bank to deputy secretary of the party committee; on July 4, he was approved by regulators to serve as president of Zhejiang Merchants Bank ; on July 10, the former chairman of the bank, Lu Jianqiang, resigned from his positions as chairman and executive director due to reaching retirement age, and Chen Haiqiang temporarily took over his responsibilities.
