On November 17, Ge Haijiao, the Chairman of Bank of China, met with a delegation led by Joachim Nagel, the President of the Deutsche Bundesbank, at the Bank of China headquarters in Beijing, to have an in-depth discussion on topics such as the construction of an offshore renminbi center, digital currency innovation, cross-border payments, and renminbi asset allocation. Liu Chenggang, the Vice President of Bank of China, also attended the meeting. Both sides expressed their agreement to enhance communication and cooperation in areas such as the international use of the renminbi and payment innovation, injecting financial energy into the development of bilateral economic and trade relations, and helping China and Germany achieve more practical results.
