Recently, in the chemical park of Yaojiagang, Zhijiang, Yichang, Hubei, the 1 million tons/year sulfuric acid production unit of Hubei Sanning Chemical Co., Ltd. has been equipped with an industrial AI big model on-site, achieving unmanned operation. The sulfuric acid production unit has long relied on the experience and frequent interventions of operators due to its multiple complex characteristics. Operators often struggle between various parameters and unexpected situations, which has hindered further improvement in safety, stability, and efficiency of the unit. Facing this common industry challenge, Hubei Sanning cooperated with central control technology to deploy an industrial AI big model as the core engine, installing a "smart brain" on the unit to achieve a fundamental shift from "manual driving" to "fully automatic driving." With the industrial brain constructed by the AI big model, the unit can self-perceive, self-diagnose, self-decide, and self-execute like a human, reducing the intensity of manual labor and safety risks. After the installation of the unit, the frequency of manual operations has decreased from over 6000 times per day and an average of over 1600 times per day to a minimum of 0 times and less than 10 times per day. At the same time, the unit can accurately control and improve product quality stability, reduce energy waste, and increase annual revenue by approximately 17 million yuan.
