Boeing (BA.N) said it will ensure its factories are capable of handling higher production rates before increasing aircraft output again next year, highlighting the cautious strategy the aircraft manufacturer has taken after years of production setbacks. The company recently received approval from US regulators to increase the monthly production of the 737 model from 38 to 42 aircraft. Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Stephanie Pope said the company's current focus before further increasing production will be to "stabilize" the existing production pace.
