The support rates of extreme right-wing party candidate Jose Antonio Kast, emerging right-wing party candidate Johnny Kser, and traditional right-wing opposition coalition candidate Evelyn Matthei are close. According to Chilean election laws, in the presidential election, if no candidate receives over 50% of the votes, the top two candidates will enter the second round of voting on December 14th, and the candidate with the most votes will eventually win.
