Logistics plays an important role in building a modern industrial system, and the level of logistics costs directly affects the operation of enterprises, market prices, and competitiveness. The State Council recently held an executive meeting to hear a report on the implementation of actions to effectively reduce the logistics costs of the whole society, and put forward the need to promote the intelligent development of logistics, continuously promote the reduction of logistics costs and improve efficiency. In recent years, China has taken a series of reform and innovation measures to reduce costs in the logistics industry. With the continuous improvement of transportation networks, the continuous improvement of infrastructure, and the continuous optimization of transportation methods, some bottlenecks have been gradually cleared. By 2024, the total logistics costs of the whole society will be reduced by more than 400 billion yuan, including a reduction of approximately 280 billion yuan in transportation costs. However, as related work progresses, the space for cost reduction is shrinking, and policy dividends are weakening. To further promote the reduction of logistics costs, new breakthroughs need to be found, accelerate the construction and upgrading of digital logistics infrastructure, promote the open interconnection of logistics data, promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence and other technologies with logistics, and promote the intelligent development of logistics.
