The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminds people to avoid travelling to Japan in the near future. The three major airlines are offering free refund and change of flight tickets for the China-Japan route.

Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in Japan issued a solemn reminder to Chinese citizens traveling to Japan. Subsequently, the three major state-owned airlines implemented a policy of free ticket changes and cancellations for flights to Japan. China Eastern Airlines stated that, in order to assist passengers with itineraries involving flights to Japan, they have released a special ticket handling plan for flights to and from Japan. For tickets with at least one unused segment involving a flight to or from Japan or with a layover in Japan, scheduled for departure between November 15, 2025 and December 31, 2025, passengers can change their ticket once for free or cancel it without incurring a cancellation fee. The policies for ticket changes and cancellations for flights to Japan for China Southern Airlines and Air China are similar to those of China Eastern Airlines, and apply to tickets with departure times from November 15 to December 31.
