The "Guangdong Vehicle Southbound" plan will be implemented starting at 12:00 am on November 15th. The automated transfer parking lot at the Hong Kong port will also be officially opened, allowing approved Guangdong private vehicle owners to drive through the Zhuhai highway port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and park at the parking lot. According to the regulations, vehicles must park in the parking lot. If transferring to a flight, passengers do not need to go through the Hong Kong immigration procedures and can proceed to the airport through the parking lot. If passengers are going to the Hong Kong city area, they will need to go through the immigration procedures and then take local transportation to their destination. It is reported that the first phase of this arrangement will initially open to four cities: Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Jiangmen, and Zhongshan, and will be expanded to other cities in Guangdong province after six months. In addition, according to the plan, the governments of Guangdong and Hong Kong have agreed that starting at 9:00 am on December 9th, a portion of the "Guangdong Vehicle Southbound" vehicles entering the Hong Kong city area will start accepting applications, and beginning at midnight on December 23rd, approved Guangdong private vehicles will be allowed to enter Hong Kong via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. Initially, there will be a daily quota of 100 vehicles, which can enter the Hong Kong city area. The full implementation of the "Guangdong Vehicle Southbound" plan will provide convenience for businesses, employment, family visits, tourism, and other activities between Guangdong and Hong Kong, further promoting the integration and development of the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
