On November 14th, a netizen posted on social media that they were on AirAsia flight AK1561 at Beijing Daxing Airport, and the cargo hold smoke alarm went off multiple times during takeoff, causing the plane to return for inspection several times. The netizen said, "The alarm went off as soon as we took off, so we didn't dare to continue flying. Three fire trucks, two ambulances, and dozens of ground crew and police cars were called in." Beijing Daxing International Airport customer service told reporters that they did receive reports of smoke alarm in the cargo hold of the flight, and after the rescue operation was completed without any casualties, they disbanded the scene command. The flight then departed as scheduled. Whether it was a false alarm or not, the airport authorities are not sure. According to travel data platform, the flight was originally scheduled to depart from Beijing Daxing Airport at 00:15 on the 14th and arrive in Kota Kinabalu at 5:35, but it was eventually delayed to depart at 5:14 in the morning and arrive in Kota Kinabalu at 10:14.
