Beijing will officially begin heating supply on November 15th.

During the heating season of 2025-2026, the total area of centralized heating in urban areas of Beijing is approximately 1.07 billion square meters, with around 700 million square meters for residents, and over 1100 heating units registered. In order to ensure the smooth operation of winter heating services, Beijing has implemented more than 950 projects to address hidden issues, renovated over 1300 kilometers of old heating pipelines, upgraded heating systems in existing buildings covering more than 30 million square meters, and conducted maintenance and upkeep of heating systems. Since mid-October, Beijing has intensified meteorological consultations and timely initiated trial runs of heating systems. During the trial run period, heating units have enhanced household inspections and system adjustments to address any issues. Currently, the overall heating situation in the city is stable, and formal standard heating will officially begin on November 15th, with indoor temperatures in residential bedrooms and living rooms not lower than 18.
