Li Qiang signs the State Council Order and announces the revised "Measures for the External Use of the National Emblem"

Premier of the State Council, Li Keqiang, recently signed a State Council decree, announcing the revised "Measures for the Use of the National Emblem Abroad", which will take effect from the date of promulgation. The purpose of the measures is to implement the revised National Emblem Law of the People's Republic of China, to correctly use the national emblem in foreign activities, and to uphold the dignity of the national emblem and the national image. The measures consist of 14 articles, with the main revisions as follows: 1. It stipulates that the use of the national emblem in foreign activities and by Chinese embassies, consulates, and other diplomatic representative offices abroad falls under these measures. 2. It improves the situations in which national institutions, personnel, and major foreign activities use the national emblem. 3. It standardizes the use of the national emblem on seals, documents, documents, as well as on the clothing of national sports and skill competition delegations. 4. It clarifies that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is specifically responsible for guiding the work related to the use of the national emblem abroad.
